Discover how Islamic Pedagogy can transform your teaching
The Islamic Teacher Education Program is an online certificate program that trains educators in Islamic Pedagogy. It explores educational principles from Islam’s rich tradition of teaching and learning in a way that is relevant to today’s Islamic schools. It empowers you to put vision into practice by aligning your teaching with Islamic principles.
The program consists of three courses that will teach you how to:
Create your personal teaching philosophy by understanding Islamic educational philosophies and how to connect them to your own practice
Develop teaching practices inspired by the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, allowing you to completely transform your classroom and the way you engage with students
Enhance your school’s vision and purpose by understanding modern approaches to schooling and how Islamic schools should be unique
Implement Islamic character building strategies in your classroom, inspired by your Islamic teaching philosophy and your school’s vision for students
Integrate Islamic perspectives into units and lesson plans by gaining the tools and resources to know when and how to integrate Islam into your curriculum
Course 2 — Designing Curriculum for Islamic Schools
Course 3 — Implementing Islamic Pedagogy in Schools
Earn a certificate from a global leader in education
After successfully completing all three courses, you will receive a Professional Learning Certificate from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. OISE is one of the world’s leading institutions in teacher education and research. The program is supported by faculty at OISE and has a managing partnership with its Continuing Education Unit.
